Transquinquennal is back with another ‘Club’ experience: five days spent preparing a text, learning it (or not), and performing it with or without the manuscript, all this at a frenetic and necessary pace, with all the blunders which this can entail.
Est: Eugène Savitzkaya has written a text which consists entirely of a string of questions without answers: Are you a taxpayer? What are you paying for? Is justice justified? Is your blood the only thing you can call your own? What are the ‘isms’ of your body? Whose underdog are you? Profound questions that are linked by homophony and homonymy and more. In their very lyricism, they provide great food for thought.
Club: two days before the national legislative elections, the Club intends to take a close look at the voting process, the as yet unavoidable basis of representative democracy. What does voting mean in Belgium? Why vote for parties of which not one represents our beliefs? Why do the candidates not stick to a clear project? What are the competences of our elected officials? Do the voters’ choices have an influence on society? It may be bar-room philosophizing, but not all of it is nonsense.
Moi Léopold Pinchon suis tombé du cosmos (I, Léopold Pinchon, fell from the cosmos): a new play by Patrick Lerch: one day, Léopold became absolutely convinced that he was from the cosmos. He denies coming out of his mother’s belly, and this upset her so much that she died on the spot. We’re off to a good start.

L’article complet
